About the Opportunity
Latino Legends is partnering with a leading logistics provider based in Southern California to identify top-tier talent for their growing operations team.
This company differentiates itself from traditional brokers by owning and operating its own equipment, chassis, and warehouse assets—enabling full control, transparent pricing, and no hidden fees.
They support high-volume importers moving freight through the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, offering end-to-end services including drayage, warehousing, transloading, and LCL consolidation/deconsolidation.
Role Overview
We are seeking a high-energy, proactive Dispatcher who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes full ownership of their work.
This role is ideal for someone who doesn’t wait for instructions but instead anticipates challenges, navigates systems efficiently, and keeps operations running seamlessly.
As a remote dispatcher, you will serve as the operational backbone—ensuring trucks stay moving, drivers are supported, and customers remain informed at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Load Management: Schedule, dispatch, and coordinate truck movements to ensure timely port pickups and deliveries.
Real-Time Tracking: Monitor driver activity via GPS and ELD systems; proactively address delays caused by traffic, weather, or port congestion.
Communication Hub: Act as the primary point of contact for drivers, brokers, and customers, managing high volumes of calls and emails with professionalism.
Problem Solving: Quickly resolve on-the-ground issues such as port delays or mechanical challenges with minimal supervision.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records in TMS platforms, manage Bills of Lading (BOLs), and ensure all port documentation is compliant.
Resource Optimization: Reduce deadhead miles and maximize Hours of Service (HOS) to improve efficiency and profitability.
Shift Details & Training
To support port operations (6:00 AM – 3:00 AM PST), we are hiring across three shifts:
Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Evening Shift: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 3:00 AM
Mandatory Training:
All new hires will complete training during the day shift:
Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST, plus Saturday 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM PST.
Weekend Rotation: You will rotate a 4.5 hour Saturday shift (typically 7:00 AM – 11:30 AM or 11:30 AM – 4:00 PM) among the dispatch team so that no one works every weekend.
What We’re Looking For
Proactive Mindset: You take initiative, solve problems independently, and stay ahead of operational needs.
Bilingual: Fluent in English and Spanish (required).
Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using multiple platforms (Google Workspace, Slack, TMS, etc.).
Strong Communicator: Clear, professional written and verbal English with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
Resilient Under Pressure: Able to stay composed and effective in high-pressure, fast-moving environments.
