E-Commerce Staff Accountant

Location: Remote (Latin America)

Department: Finance & Accounting

Reports to: VP of Finance

Salary: USD $2,000 – $3,000 per month (based on experience)

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (U.S. Mountain Time)

Role Summary

Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant who goes beyond simply checking boxes. This role requires someone who can think critically, provide input, and serve as a trusted thought partner on accounting decisions. The ideal candidate has a strong command of GAAP accounting, understands how accounting choices impact the broader business, and is comfortable discussing ideas, improvements, and edge cases with leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
  
  

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  
  

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  
  

• Support cash flow tracking and bank reconciliation.
  
  

• Prepare financial reporting and assist with analysis of variances.
  
  

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and expense tracking.
  
  

• Help coordinate external audits and respond to audit requests.
  
  

• Maintain accurate fixed asset schedules.
  
  

• Support compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.
  
  

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, sales, customer support) to resolve accounting issues.
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as an Accountant supporting U.S.-based companies.
  
  

• Strong, hands-on understanding of GAAP accounting principles and their practical application.
  
  

• Ability to think beyond transactional accounting and contribute ideas, insights, and solutions.
  
  

• Comfortable collaborating with leadership and acting as a sounding board on accounting-related matters.
  
  

• Experience in fast-growing, product-based, e-commerce, or consumer goods companies is a plus.
